Letterpress Workshop hosted by Type Club

Type Club held a free letterpress workshop last Saturday, November 19, and everyone who attended had a fantastic time. We had 3 presses available for people to print, with holiday cards, political prints, and business cards among the mix. Roughly 15 people showed up with only the little advertising our small, volunteer-run organization was able to muster, which was great to see.

Attendees of Type Club’s free Letterpress Workshop last Saturday, November 19, get a brief overview of the equipment and type available for people to use.

We had 4 trays of metal type available indifferent fonts for people to use in their projects, as well as a several plates of vintage graphics. We had a couple of examples of lockups for people to use as examples.

Type Club also provided a few snacks for people to enjoy between working on their projects. Many of the attendees had never used a letterpress before, and the event proved to be fun and educational for everyone. Here a few more photos from the event:

I have an unhealthy obsession with lettering and typography, coffee, and podcasts. If you know a place where he can get help with these things, don’t bother. I'm beyond all hope at this point.
